Join Me on Dr. Oz this Monday, October 21!

As the momentum around Grain Brain continues to build, I’d like to invite you to join me for my appearance on “The Dr. Oz Show” this Monday, October 21. Join Dr. Oz and me as we discuss the central tenants of Grain Brain, and how you can adjust your diet and daily routines to work towards better brain health. We’ll look at some of the key dos and don’ts of the Grain Brain diet, and I’ll provide some simple tips to help you start making healthier changes by dinner.

To find out when and where the program will be airing in your area, visit Dr. Oz’s website.

I have it set on the DVR! Will watch right when I get home from work.

    • David Perlmutter

      Glad to hear JIm!

  • Laurie-Avalanche Rosen

I hope Dr. Oz’s eyes are opened. He’s clung to the low fat lie for so long that I’m not even sure experts like Dr. Stephen Sinatra, Jonny Bowden, Dr. William Davis and yourself can open his eyes. The man loves his grains! *facepalm*

    • David Perlmutter

      Hope you’ll tune in Laurie!

  • Susan Bratchie

In UK, hope I can watch on the internet, or SKY??

    • David Perlmutter

There will be some clips available online shortly after the program airs.

  • Robyn Albaum

Dr. Perlmutter, I am considering solely targeting brain health for my health coaching practice. My mom just passed from Alzheimer’s in June. I was recently in Naples and would love to discuss some interesting ideas with you.

  • Andrew Wodecki

A great venue for the message-congrats, Dr. Perlmutter!
So many patients/family/friends I know WILL watch Dr. Oz’s show and take heed to what is said there…so I will try to let them all know about it!
Concerning “Grain Brain” I had a question about the eyes (talk about opening their eyes-haha) and your reference to AMD (macular degeneration) and Vitamin K p.89. Was there a specific reference for that or the general knowledge that eating leafy, dark green ( Lutein/Zeaxanthin,etc) veggies is so important for ocular health?
I did come upon material correlating the drusen found in macular degeneration with the same process as that in Alzheimer’s and atherosclerosis http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/12208254
Referenced from Review of Optometry April 2013 article on Geographic Atrophy (AMD) Majcher and Gurwood.

  • Robyn Albaum

I’ve shared this on Facebook, texted friends and family, contacted The Ivey, a day respite here in Charlotte, care homes, the works! So excited this vitally important information is now available. Thank you for your work Dr. Perlmutter!!

    • David Perlmutter

Glad to have your support Robyn!

  • Sarasota

Excellent presentation. The visuals on tables were VIP !

    • David Perlmutter

Glad to know that was helpful. Thanks for tuning in!

Your appearance on Dr. Oz was very inspiring! I hope your message will get across to the general public through his show. I bought and read your book and have tweaked my diet! Thank you!! I would love to know what a typical day’s food looks like for you. I now eat eggs, bacon, berries and coffee with heavy cream for breakfast, a lean protein with low carb veggies and a bit of rice for lunch and salads with meat, seafood or fish for dinner along with nuts, seeds and dark chocolate as snacks. Am I on the right track?

    • David Perlmutter

Sounds like you’re on the right track for sure. I love a drop of cream in my coffee as well.

  • Karen St. Clair

Love the book! With no health insurance how can we get the tests done? What do they cost and will the lab do the tests without a Dr. approval? Do you recommend a certain lab, other than Cyrex? I’m starting the diet without the tests. Also,do you recommend the diet for folks with Parkinson’s Disease?

  • Karen St. Clair

Love the book. Is there a way to get the tests done without a Dr request? What do the tests cost? For those of us without health insurance what do you recommend? I’m going to start the program w/o the tests. Also do you recommend this program for folks with Parkinson’s Disease?

  • Dr. Brian R. Ferguson

Congratulations on a good appearance. You handled yourself well, especially when Mehmet positioned your opinion as directly countering his show’s past information. Well done.

    • David Perlmutter

Thanks Brian. Glad you could tune in and join me.
