FBPixel Thriving in a Toxic World - Empowering Neurologist with Dr. Perlmutter

How to Thrive in a Toxic World

Call it like it is, we live in a very very toxic world. Our ability to detoxify the more than 90,000 chemicals that have been introduced into our existence is certainly less robust than it needs to be. Indeed, new challenges face our ability to detoxify on a daily basis in terms of new products to which we are exposed, and even the water we drink.

Today on the program I speak with Dr. Aly Cohen who has written a wonderful book entitled Non-Toxic: Guide to Living Healthy in a Chemical World along with her co-author Frederick S. vom Saal, PhD.

Here’s more about the authors:

Dr. Aly Cohen is a board-certified rheumatologist and integrative medicine specialist, as well as an environmental health expert in Princeton, New Jersey. She has collaborated with the Environmental Working Group, Cancer Schmancer, and other disease-prevention organizations, and is coeditor of the textbook Integrative Environmental Medicine, part of the Oxford University Press Weil Integrative Medicine Library. In 2015, she created TheSmartHuman.com to share environmental health, disease prevention, and wellness information with the public.

Dr. Fred vom Saal is a Curators’ Distinguished Professor of Biology at the University of Missouri-Columbia. After college he taught biology as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Somalia and after the revolution there, he also taught in Kenya and then Paris before entering graduate school. Dr. vom Saal has published over 240 articles and reviews on his research. He has served on the editorial boards of numerous scientific journals and federal research review panels both in the United States and abroad.

I am so delighted to share this very empowering information with all of you today on the program.
