The Empowering Neurologist – David Perlmutter M.D., and Wim Hof

Holy Toledo! Did yours truly just have an amazing interview? You bet. I spoke with Wim Hof, a.k.a. “The Iceman.” Wim holds 26 world records for his feats of endurance and exposure to cold―such as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro wearing only shorts and shoes, running a barefoot half-marathon in the Arctic Circle, and standing in an ice-filled container for more than 112 minutes. On March 16, 2000, Hof set the Guinness World Record for farthest swim under ice, with a distance of 57.5 meters (188.6 ft).

Having been taught by the majestic natural power of the cold exposure coupled with a unique breathing technique, Wim is on a mission to share his discoveries with the world.

The benefits of his method, now practiced by millions, have been validated by eight university research studies, several of which we discuss today.

He has been featured on the BBC, VICE Media, Discovery Channel, and Joe Rogan, Tim Ferris, and School of Greatness podcasts.

His newest book The Wim Hof Method-Activate Your Full Human Potential is the subject of our time together today. And I am certain you will not only be entertained, but empowered as well. Wim will provide some really important information that relates to our ability to gain control over parts of our physiology that were heretofore considered inaccessible – like immune function. As such, you’ll find this interview quite timely.

For more from Wim, follow him on his website, or on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter.
